Mr. Frederick Mensah-Acheampong is a Management Consultant and Health Economist with over 20 years’ experience working in the health sector of Ghana. He is currently the Director, Human Resource for Health Development at the Ministry of Health. Prior to this position, he served as the Director of Administration at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he played a critical role in the restructuring and transitioning of the then regional hospital into a teaching hospital and as a Deputy Director, Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
His career interests include Organisational Restructuring, Community Health, Human Resource Planning, Corporate Strategic Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Economic Evaluation & Cost-Effective Analysis, Policy Analysis and Health Systems Research. He has a deep understanding of health systems operations in general and the Ghana health system in particular.
Frederick holds a master’s degree in health policy, planning and financing at the London School of Economics and Political Science (University of London), and a postgraduate diploma at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He obtained his first degree in BSc. Administration at the University of Ghana Business School, and he is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Coast.
Frederick is a result-oriented health professional and health systems thinker with the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage resources. He is a self-motivated person with effective leadership skills, good interpersonal relationships and efficient communication skills.
